1. HOW DO I BUY iC2?

After you have successfully purchased your license key, you will be taken back to 2401Tech.com where your license key information will be provided (license keys are not emailed). Then enter the information exactly as provided in the Name and License Key boxes in iC2 and press the Verify button.
2. HOW DO I INSTALL iC2?
iPhoto Copy Companion is a self-contained program that doesn't require a special installation process. Once you have downloaded the program, simply drag-and-drop the folder to your preferred location on the computer.
3. HOW DO I REPORT A PROBLEM?
Please go here to initiate contact with Customer Support to report an issue/problem regardind iPhoto Copy Companion.
We strive to respond to all inquiries/reports within 2 business days.
4. WHAT IS A LOG FILE? DOES IT CONTAIN PERSONAL INFORMATION?
A log file is used to record what's happening in the program so we can trouble-shoot potential problems. It contains information about the product (such as the version you are running, license data, and what the program was doing when a problem occurred) but not personal information that could compromise your security.
5. iC2 SAYS THE PICTURE WAS COPIED BUT IT DOESN'T SHOW UP IN THE CAMERA VIEW-FINDER OR WON'T PRINT.
The most common reason is that the picture's size (width/height) doesn't match the camera/printer/kiosk parameters. For example:
- Has it been cropped?
- Did it come from a different source than your camera?
- Has it been rotated?
- NOTE: The free v1R2 update now automatically rotates 'portrait' images in iPhoto to 'landscape' for printing to minimize this problem with some cameras/printers/kiosks.
6. CAN I USE iC2 WITH OTHER PHOTO ALBUM OR IMAGE-EDITING APPLICATIONS ... OR WITH OSX IN GENERAL?
The user-interface for iPhoto Copy Companion is based on drag-and-drop for copying images to your camera/card. For example, you can drag-and-drop JPG pictures from any window/folder in OSX into iC2.
If your preferred photo album/image-editing program supports drag-and-drop (most do) AND it 'maps' the dragged image to an actual file on your system, then iC2 should work. If you are having problems using iC2 with your preferred program and you'd like for us to add support for it, please let us know.
7. HOW DO I HIDE iC2 WHILE I WORK ON SOMETHING ELSE?
| Click on the yellow button at the top of the window. This will put it in your dock.
To reactivate iC2, click on the iC2 icon in your dock.

8. IS MY CAMERA SUPPORTED OR DO I NEED A CARD READER?
iPhoto Copy Companion uses the DCIM (Digital Camera IMage) Specification for writing image data to removeable media. Therefore, iC2 will work with all known camera manufacturers/models, printers and retail kiosks conforming to the DCIM specification, unless the camera doesn't mount as a volume on your desktop ...
Some camera manufacturers/models -- Canon & Kodak are popular examples -- restrict access to the camera by using a proprietary protocol for writing data to the camera. If the camera/card doesn't appear on your desktop when connected to your computer, then you will need a card reader to transfer pictures back to the camera. The best way to determine whether a card reader is necessary is to [a] connect your camera to the computer, [b] launch iPhoto, and then [c] compare what's shown in iPhoto under the "Source" pane with the example graphic below. If the "eject" icon doesn't appear to the right, then you'll need a card reader to use iPhoto Copy Companion.

For more information on this topic: search Apple Discussion Forums
Search for a card reader at: Yahoo, MSN, Google.
9. IF I GET A CARD READER, WHY WOULD I NEED iC2?
Cameras, printers, and kiosks require that the data on the media card conform to the DCIM specification. This specification has strict rules for directory structure, file names and other items. If you don't want to take the time to figure it out, iC2 takes care of this for you.

10. SUGGESTED FEATURES
The following features have been requested by our customers:
- Automatically convert a 'portrait' in iPhoto to 'landscape' on my camera/card for printing. [implemented in v1R2]
- Provide an option to embed the picture's creation date in the print. Location determined by me. [implemented in v2R1]
- My iPhoto library is huge and consists of many pictures that might not print well (e.g. web cam, cellphone pics). Can you please alert me when I'm trying to copy such a picture to my camera/card so I won't waste money on a bad print? [implemented in v2R1]
- My camera doesn't show up on my desktop but iPhoto recognizes it for importing pix into my library. Can you please recognize my camera and let me copy pix to its card? [this isn't possible at the moment ... please see #8 above]
- The "embedded date" feature is really nice. Could you (1) let me save the result directly to my hard disk instead of the memory card? and (2) can you let me put a watermark in the image so I can put it on my web site (for copyright protection ... text is OK but an image overlay would be even better)? [under consideration as an advanced feature or product]
